post-apocalyptic AU where charles and erik are childhood friends doing horrible adult things and being in love. this is actually schmoop, but there are bits of violence here and there. please heed the tags.

This is a beautifully atmospheric fic that manages to be both innocent and jaded. There is definitely violence and risky sexual situations going on, but while there is mild gore, the violence isn’t described.

I was particularly impressed with fealle’s narrative voice in this; it is present, yet doesn’t draw too much attention to itself.

Ignoring the incorrect English, this is, sadly, not unusual to see. I’ve discussed it before with hbanana7, who lives in laid-back Fukuoka, but there’s definitely a strong sense of nationalism and anti-foreigner sentiment within the anime/manga otaku community. It is a very loud minority, not representative of the whole, but very apparent.

Also, if you are going to make your site anti-foreigner, you probably shouldn’t have so many scantily-clad foreign cosplayers on your site.

No. I saw it both ways and it’s not that special.

They did not have 3D in English (I loathe dubs), so I saw 2D. And… Hmm. Have to think about it a bit. Parts of it were better than the other two and parts were far worse. But overall, glad I paid the 2D price.

And 4D? Whuuuuuuut? I must look that up!

My initial reaction is that almost everything Pepper was awesome.

And that everything else wasn’t so great. I’m from the American Midwest (not Tennessee, though) and I get really fucking tired of how the Midwest is portrayed. But, yeah, never mind that. Because the thing that sucked the most was, I think, the totally handwavey crap that happened right after Pepper saves the day.

And not enough Rhodey! I love him, give me morrre!

But I hear from a lot of other people that they absolutely hated it and I wonder why.
